When others come around you, do they walk away encouraged or discouraged? Do they walk away rejoicing in the Lord or further from the Lord?

Jesus came to serve. He selected prayer over sleep, the wilderness over the Jordan, irascible apostles over obedient angles. I'd have gone with the angles. Given the choice, I would have built my apostle team out of cherubim and seraphim or Gabriel and Michael.

A Burst of Love
Sometimes God is so touched by what He sees that He gives us what we need and not simply that for which we ask. It's a good thing. For who would have ever thought to ask God for what He gives? Which of us would have dared to say: "God, would you please hang yourself on a tool of torture as a substitution for every mistake I have ever committed?
